For Parents

A child's growth is a shared journey. Here is everything you need to work hand in hand with the school.

“The task of helping your children to become good citizens is done better through a partnership between the school and the parents.”

For Parents

Partnership With Parents

The home is where a child receives their first education, and where character is formed. The school diary links home and school, and serves as the channel for parent–teacher contact.

  • Check the diary daily

Respond promptly to remarks from the Principal, Vice Principal or teachers.

  • Homework

Ensure homework is done daily and neatly, and encourage children to study on their own

  • Attendance & punctuality

Children should reach school on time and in full uniform. 85% attendance is required for the final examination.

  • Discipline

Consistent values at home and at school. Please raise any concerns with the Principal, not in front of the child.

  • Communication

Send remarks through the school diary. Inform the school promptly if your child is ill or kept at home.

  • Parent–teacher meetings

Please attend whenever informed. Report cards are shared with parents on result days.

  • Wellbeing & self-help

Encourage self-reliance at home, and some regular English conversation.

From the School Diary

Kindly Take Note

The school diary

  1. Read all the information in the diary, and fill in all particulars and your specimen signature correctly.
  2. Check your child's diary daily and respond promptly to remarks from the Principal, Vice Principal or teachers.
  3. Send your remarks or any other information through the school diary.
  4. Check daily that the lessons and homework for the next day are completed.

At home

  1. Children should do their homework themselves. Tuition is not advisable unless a child is truly weak in the basics.
  2. Encourage self-help: keeping their room tidy, making their bed, polishing their shoes and carrying their own bag.
  3. Some regular English conversation at home helps children follow their classes easily.
  4. Avoid criticising a teacher in front of your child. If you have a complaint, please meet the Principal.

Meeting the school

  1. Attend Parent–Teacher Meetings whenever informed.
  2. Parents may not enter classrooms or meet teachers during school hours without the Principal's permission.
  3. Report any lack of attention to your child to the Principal, Vice Principal or Manager in time.

Leave & absence

  1. Leave is granted only on a prior written application from parents, entered in the diary. Sanction is at the Principal's discretion.
  2. Inform the school without delay if your child is ill. Sick children should not be sent to class or tests.
  3. Absence of more than six consecutive days without leave, or of more than five days after a vacation, may lead to the name being struck off the rolls.
  4. A medical certificate is needed after an infectious or contagious illness.
