Examinations & promotion Unit tests and two terminal examinations are held during the academic year. Promotion is based on the whole year's performance: unit tests, terminal tests, class work, attendance, assignments, conduct and discipline. Report cards are given to parents on result days and must be signed by them. Students need 85% attendance and all fees paid for the year to sit the final examination. Students absent from an examination or unit test are not re-examined. In case of certified illness, promotion is decided on the year's class work and other tests. Any malpractice earns zero in that subject and may lead to dismissal. Results declared are final. Final examination answer papers are not re-checked or shown.
Guidelines for exams Carry no unnecessary material into the exam hall. Write your correct roll number and details neatly on the answer sheet and question paper. Do not write anything else on the question paper. Read the question paper carefully before you begin, and re-read your answers before you hand them in. Draw a margin, leave space between answers, number every answer clearly and keep your handwriting legible. Write in blue ink only, never red or green, and carry your geometry box and a spare pen. If you have any doubt, ask only the invigilator.
